Creativity Is Good for All Aspects of Your Life

People seek my help in this area who have gotten away from this vital part of their lives.
To get back on track, we might explore questions such as these:
What did you use to love to do creatively?
What happened that you set it down? Criticism, self-criticism, work, obligations, others' expectations of you?
What is your vision of your creative self?
What is your history? What is your experience? What are your excuses?
What do you notice in your thoughts, feelings, and body sensations?
Excitement? Fear? Driven? Uncertain? Motivated.

Reaching Your Goals

How about we let go of the word “goals” for a moment? What would the daydream of your life be? What does it look like, feel like, sound like? Most of us would like more space inside, a slower pace punctuated by exciting and fun times. However, we need a system. Spontaneity is great when we are on vacation, but it doesn’t always work in real life. We are never going to feel like sitting down and writing or creating that thing we’ve been putting off. These days too much is in the way.

Work-Life Balance

There are many books that attempt to offer easy answers to this complex question. How do we create and maintain a balance between work and life? It is important to have a vision for your life with all of the elements your life currently contains, not some “pie-in-the-sky” version that can’t happen now. From taking an honest assessment of what needs to be done and what we are willing to do, we can build from there.

Storytelling

What is your story? What is the story you are telling yourself? What would you like your story to be?
You have a story to tell. It might be helpful to write it down, or just understand how it is impacting your life. What has brought you to this point in time? What kind of life do you want to live? How do you want to contribute to the world? Storytelling is vital to who we are and to the world.
